Takashi Murakami: He deserves the cred
I just love what he does, its contemporary, futuristic, fashionable, scary, playful, and everything else...top one looks like a collabo with Cai-Guo Qiang. The other two are just awesome, and obviously he and our friend Kanyeezy are good pals. Its just a silly picture and I had to include it.

BBC Ice Cream, Wealth is of the what now?
So on my recent trip to New York I visited the newish BBC/Ice Cream store in SoHo. Overall it's kinda cool, if you like their clothes, but thats not the point. Halfway up those neon blue stairs you can see above is a neon sign with their lovely motto; "Wealth is of the Heart and Mind, Not the Pocket" for a company selling $400 sweatshirts, that seems silly anyway. But even worse, half a flight of steps up from this neon sign lies a pair of jeans on the back pocket of which is the word WEALTH. Get it together guys, send a message or don't, but stop the bullshit.
p.s. mind, heat, or pocket, you earned your money at the Glow in the Dark tour.

Kanye West can Glow in the Dark!!!!!
So I went to the Glow in the Dark Tour last night in Denver and was blown away. Lupe and Rihanna were whatever, not bad, nothing great, N.E.R.D. was awesome as always, and then there was Kanye. For those of you who read his blog he has been hyping up this tour more than he hypes himself and after all that hype I was prepared for a let down. However, as Kanye tends to do, he blew the roof off the Pepsi Center with his incredible music and artistic creativity. Just as a preview, Kanye plays his set with a narrative, based on his spaceship crash-landing on an unknown planet where he proceeds to perform. The stage is a moonscape with fog everywhere, a massive screen backdrop playing video of sunsets, space, and futuristic tunnels, at times massive flames shoot out of the stage from which I could feel the heat in the 19th row. Alien girls, moving platforms, glowing orbs, flashing lights, and of course Kanye West himself, alone on the stage geeking out the entire time and sweating like a whore in church. I couldn't bring my camera but I'll try to get some pictures from other people who went. The pics here are from Kanye and Concrete Loop.

bottom two Kanye West
p.s. Kanye was the only person on stage but in front of him was a large band, nearly an orchestra. They all wore Daft Punk-esque helmet/masks and were in the dark the entire time. However, from my seat I could clearly see the drummers beating away on tympani drums like they were in a ritualistic ceremony in the heart of Africa. It looked amazing and really was too bad they didn't get the credit they deserved.

Johan Lorbeer: Still Life
This guy's new street performance is pretty cool. The arm is fake and mounted to the wall, he hangs from a harness, but it seems impossible to tell otherwise. Check his website

latest work for class, im pretty happy with it
the assignment was to do something using foamcore and make it somewhat 3D. Not much more guidelines than that, so heres what I did. Its something along the lines of renewable energy and pollution being a huge issue these days, combined with places like China who put up a new coal power plant daily and their economy is blowing up. Take from it what you wish...here it goes.

Finally design meets the everyday
I'd totally buy these pills.
Packed in soft paper packaging, Richard Fine has created these headache pills (as well as bandages, "Help I've cut myself") to give consumers a packaging option that won't make your headache worse.

Light Emitting Wallpaper
Jonas Samson has created this amazing looking wallpaper as an alternative to lightbulbs in a room. How much greener it is I don't know, but it sure as hell looks ill.

Second Life idea
This is a proposal for my final project in second life. I plan to work as a team with Randall and we want to experiment with misbehavior and possible punishment in Second Life. We are both entirely unfamiliar with the game and are curious to see how much abuse some people will take. Obviously no real harassment will occur, nothing punishable by actual law, but we want to find out if we can be enough of a nuisance that there will be a reaction. We have no idea what that reaction might be, which is why it will be fun and entertaining. Does that work???
BOONDOCKS - really offensive, banned from TV, worth seeing
this episode of Boondocks wasn't allowed on TV for obvious reasons.
